چکیده

Objective: To evaluate if the elevated levels of Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) could serve as an indicator polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in patients presenting with infertility. Method: The present study was conducted at Institute Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, University ofLahore andAustralianConceptInfertilityMedicalCenter(ACIMC),Lahore. It a case control study. Atotal 101 females aged between 20-40 years infertility were included this Among participants, 51 infertile had PCOS 50 non-PCOS subjects. After taking informed consent, medical history anthropometric indices recorded on standardized proforma.Transvaginal ultrasound done to assess morphology. Serum AMH, follicle stimulating (FSH), luteinizing (LH), thyroid (TSH) prolactin measured by commercially available ELISAkits. AMH 10 healthy, fertile having normal menstrual cycle reference values our population. Results: Mean significantly higher (9.9±1.1ng/ml) compared subjects without (1.0± 0.3ng/ml). FSH lower (p value 0.001) but LH: ratio, serum level not different two groups. Conclusion: provides evidence that raised are associated presence therefore can useful marker diagnosis

Role of Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)? A Mini Review

PCO affects about 10% of females. Increase in the burden of PCOS has led to a considerable amount of research into its risk factors, pathophysiology and the management [2]. There have been numerous theories that have been put forward for describing the etiology for an ovulation in PCO including; an excess of small antral follicles, hyperandrogenaemia, hyperinsulinaemia and dysfunctional feedbac...

Impact of laparoscopic ovarian drilling on serum anti-mullerian hormone levels in patients with anovulatory Polycystic Ovarian syndrome

OBJECTIVES Anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) is a marker of the activity of recruitable ovarian follicles. It is useful in the prediction of ovarian reserve. Women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) have elevated circulating and intrafollicular AMH levels. Laparoscopic ovarian drilling (LOD) in patients with PCOS destroys ovarian androgen-producing tissue and reduces their peripheral conversion...

Anti mullerian hormone: a potential marker for recruited non growing follicle of ovarian pool in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.

BACKGROUND Polycystic ovarian disease is one of the most common causes of infertility in women of reproductive age. Anti- mullerian hormone (AMH), a member of transforming growth factor (TGF) family which is secreted by granulosa cells of growing follicle, is found to be increased to three to four fold in Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) patients as evidenced by previous studies. But the lev...

STUDY QUESTION What is the relationship of serum anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) with polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)? SUMMARY ANSWER Serum AMH concentrations are capable of differentiating between normal ovaries, PCOM and PCOS.
